Patrick Coo continued to impress overseas as he copped the silver medal in the men’s elite category of the 2024 Asian BMX Continental Championships Friday, May 31, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 22-year-old Coo timed in 36.74 seconds behind gold medalist and hometown bet Komet Sukprasert (34.858sec) and ahead of bronze winner Ryo Shimada (36.92sec) of Japan in the three-day tournament joined by top cyclists around the region.
By winning the silver in men’s elite, Coo bested his podium finish in the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games last year where he took home the bronze.
The Bellflower, California native is currently at 105th place with 258 points in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) world rankings.
Coo hopes he has enough points to earn a re-allocation slot for the nearing Paris Games if other countries waived their spot in the quadrennial meet.
The deadline for qualification in the Games is until June 2.
