TACLOBAN CITY – A total of 5,342 jobs were offered in the Overseas Job Fair 2024 initiated by Cebu Pacific, United Filipino Global (UFG), Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office-8, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on Saturday, June 1, in Robinsons North Abucay here.

The job fair aimed to provide a platform for individuals aspiring to work abroad to explore a diverse range of job opportunities offered by various international employers and reputable recruitment agencies.
"This is the first time that we are hosting a job fair in Tacloban for Filipinos who want to work outside the Philippines. Being a low-cost carrier, we enable their dreams because given our low fares, it is easier for OFWs to travel to the nation where they will work," Carmina Romero, director for corporate communication of Cebu Pacific, said.
It also targeted to meet the employment demands of Filipinos in sectors like healthcare, accountancy, hospitality, and skilled trades.
Job openings were offered in the Middle East, United Arab Emirates, Japan, and Australia.
She said that they intend to bring the job fair to other provinces.
Among the participating agencies are 1st Northern International Placement Inc., Ascend International Services Inc., ERRX Recruitment Consulting, Jenerick International Manpower Inc., and SMC Manpower Agency Philippines Company.
