Maynilad advises residents of Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Bacoor, Imus not to drink tap water


The Maynilad Water Services advised customers residing in some portions of Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Bacoor and Imus not to drink tap water.

The Maynilad came out with an advisory on Saturday, June 1, that it is conducting adjustment at its treatment facilities due to the onset of rainy season.

The water service company also said there have been significant changes in the quality of the raw water due to prolonged dry spell caused by El Niño at the Laguna lake, which serves as supply source of water treatment plants in Muntinlupa.

 Maynilad advised residents not to drink water directly from the tap until further notice as it aims to ensure the affected customers' health and safety during the transition period.

The tap water may still be used for hygienic purposes such as bathing, washing and others.

Maynilad said they are working diligently to complete the necessary adjustment as swiftly as possible prioritizing consumers' safety.

The consumers will be given immediate notification once the tap water is safe to drink again.

The Maynilad said they also deployed water tankers to deliver potable water to affected residents and installed stationary tanks in strategic locations for ease of supply distribution. 

The affected barangays in Las Piñas were Almanza Uno, Almanza Dos; BF International, Pamplona Tres, Pilar, Talon Uno, Talon Dos; Talon Tre, Talon Kuatro and Talon Singko.

In Muntilupa, the affected barangays include Alabang; Ayala Alabang; Bayanan, Buli; Cupang; Poblacion; Putatan, Sucat and Tunasan.

Barangays Don Bosco, BF Homes, and San Antonio were the affected areas in Parañaque City.

Meanwhile, Maynilad customers in Bacoor City's barangays Molino III; Molino IV;Molino VII, Queens Row Central, Queens Row East; Queens Row West and San Nicholas III and Imus City's barangays Pasong Buaya I and Pasong Buaya II were also advised not to drink tap water.
