SUYO, Ilocos Sur – A 70-year-old farmer allegedly stabbed a 36-year-old laborer dead here on Friday.
Police Capt. Godofredo Ribuyaco, chief of police here, identified the victim as Danny S. Bugtong.
Investigation said the suspect, Joseph Hidalgo, left a drinking session with the victim after he thought that he punched his son in the head that resulted in a lump.
Hidalgo returned and stabbed the victim in the chest.
The suspect escaped and the victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared on arrival.
Hidalgo was arrested in a pursuit operation. Recovered from him was 13-inch knife he used in the crime. The suspect is facing a murder case.
