The operation was conducted in coordination with the PDEA-Negros Occidental and the Hinigaran Municipal Police Station.

The PDEA said the suspect is the town’s No. 2 target-listed drug personality and a son of an alleged former leader of a dismantled drug group operating in Iloilo.

A PDEA agent said that it took them several months to monitor the suspect.

He said the suspect had a previous murder case which was reportedly claimed by his father.

The PDEA agent also said that the suspect had a previous case for illegal possession of firearms in Estancia, Iloilo, but was able to post bail, while a similar case in Hinoba-an town was dismissed.

The suspect was previously charged for illegal possession of dangerous drugs during the service of an arrest warrant for murder in Hinoba-an but he applied for plea bargaining, the PDEA agent added.
