The city government of Las Piñas has inaugurated the Women's Crisis Center in Sta. Cecilia Village, Barangay Talon Dos, wich provides essential services to women aged 18 to 59 who experience violence.

The center was opened on May 8 with Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar leading the inauguration. It can accommodate up to 40 women who need temporary shelter and rehabilitation services.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the opening of the center is the city government's response to the rising number of cases of violence against women in the area.

Aguilar said the facility offers a comprehensive range of services designed to promote healing and recovery, including counseling, legal assistance, and livelihood training.

She said aside from serving as a protective haven, the center functions as a livelihood center as part of her programs on enhancing economic opportunities for women through skills development.

The mayor said the diverse programs aim to empower women to rebuild their lives and achieve economic independence.

Aguilar said the opening of the Women’s Crisis Center is part of Las Piñas City's broader commitment to safeguarding women’s rights and supporting their well-being, and reinforcing the city's dedication to creating a safe and supportive environment for all women.
