Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa's decision to schedule a third hearing on the "PDEA leaks" issue have left two administration congressmen flabbergasted.

Not mincing his words, House Deputy Majority Leader Isabela 6th district Rep. Faustino "Inno" Dy said in reaction to the news: “This is a clear waste of time and a waste of governments' money, waste of taxpayers’ money.”

"Nakakapagtaka na aabot pa ito sa third hearing (I wonder why they're holding a third hearing)...For me this is a dead end," he added.

Sharing Dy's sentiments is another deputy majority leader in Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre.

“Of course nagiging katawa-tawa na, na ipatuloy pa ang mga hearings kung saan nakikita naman natin na halos wala ng patutunguhan at kung ano-ano na lang ang mga kuwento," he said.

(Of course it has become laughable, that they are going to continue these hearings, which have no direction and are just about random stories.)

The Senate Committee on Public Order chaired by Dela Rosa has been criticized by House members and senators alike for the way that it has carried out the two hearings on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) leaks, where former agent Jonathan Morales has been the star witness.

For these solons, the Dela Rosa panel is letting Morales implicate President Marcos in a public arena sans any shred of credible evidence.

"Someone is benefiting from the opportunity and the audience para siraan ang Pangulo at ang administrasyon (to malign the President and the administration),” Acidre said.

Dy said: "There is clearly a motivation why someone would keep pushing, will keep pushing for this to really malign someone, malign our president, malign the actress that was also involved, Maricel Soriano."

The supposed documents Morales has presented to the committee were already branded by the PDEA itself as non-existent, but still Dela Rosa is dragging the hearings on.
