Construction worker moonlighting as drug peddler nabbed in Oriental Mindoro

Police arrested a 41-year old suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro on Wednesday evening, May 8.
Police Maj. Clyde Kalyawen. Acting chief of police of Roxas Municipal Police Station, said the operation stemmed from intelligence reports about the illegal activities of the construction worker who moonlights as a drug peddler.
A buy-bust was immediately mapped out which resulted in the arrest of the suspect in Barangay Paclasan in Roxas town on Wednesday night.
Seized from him were several sachets of shabu with a street value of around P44,000.
"I commend the diligent efforts of our team as well as collaborating units for the successful operation that led to the arrest of the suspect," said Kalyawen.
"We are resolutely dedicated to amplifying our endeavors in combating the spread of illegal drugs within our jurisdiction to safeguard the well-being of our communities," he added.
He said the arrested person will be slapped with a case of violation of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
