But it won’t come easy for “The Jaguar.” He takes on ranked no. 4 strawweight MMA contender Hiroba Minowa on July 6 (Philippine time) inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. And the fight could dictate Miado’s trajectory in the division.

After knocking on the door of the top-five contenders, Miado now finds himself at the end of a three-fight losing skid. He has lost to Mansur Malachiev, Lito Adiwang, and Keito Yamakita.

The Filipino remains one of the most intimidating strikers in ONE Championship. In fact, he holds knockout wins over renowned strikers Danial Williams and Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.

But the problem is not with his ability to light people up on their feet. The common ground in all of his losses was Miado not stopping any of the takedowns, and it’s something he needs to sharpen against another grappler in Minowa.

Like Miado, Minowa is also at the crossroads of his career. He’s fresh off a decision loss to #3-ranked Gustavo Balart and wants nothing more than to hold his place in the rankings.

The two will join Filipina-American striking sensation Jackie Buntan before she battles pound-for-pound great Anissa Meksen in the main event for the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Title.

Since losing her first attempt at the inaugural ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title against Smilla Sundell, Buntan has put together three straight impressive performances, leading her to another shot at gold.

Also on the card is the highly anticipated clash between two bantamweight Muay Thai contenders. Second-ranked Nico Carrillo takes on #4-ranked Saemapetch Fairtex in a match that could be the fight of the night.
