'Tsismis lang': Abalos shrugs off destabilization plot vs PBBM

The alleged destabilization plot involving some senior Philippine National Police (PNP) against the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong’’ Marcos Jr. is  far from the truth, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur’’ Abalos Jr. said on Wednesday, May 8.

"These kinds of destabilization plots are merely gossip, there is no credibe threat against the administration," said Abalos.

“Wala po ito, 101 percent andiyan ang mga pulis busy kami, busy sila sa trabaho. Nakita niyo naman yung huli sa droga by the billions ang huli nila (There is nothing to it, the police officers are there 101 percent, we are busy, they are busy with their work. You can see that they seized billions worth of illegal drugs),’’ he added.

Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV earlier claimed that active high-ranking PNP officials and retired military officials have been recruiting policemen and soldiers to oust President Marcos.

Trillanes claimed that the move is part to protect former president Rodrigo Duterte from being arrested by the International Criminal Court.
