Lacuna-Pangan said that the recognition was given by the Philippine College of Physicians at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The accreditation was received by SAH Director Dr. Grace Padilla, Assistant Director Dr. Maria Nanette Pamatian-Pagalan, and Department of Internal Medicine Chairman Dr. Paul Lucas.

They were also joined by training officer Dr. KayeCee dela Paz and the pioneer batch of residents: Cole Go, Ardiyah Lampa, Obie Viñola, John Brian Gonzaga, and Diane Mariel Cresencio.

The mayor said the recognition was another achievement for the six hospitals run by the city.

Padilla said that the hospital may also soon achieve the level three status because of the accreditation.

As a doctor herself, the mayor cited how SAH proved its services at the height of the pandemic by being the center of Covid-19 testing and treatment and the keeper of all the Covid-19 vaccines.

When Lacuna-Pangan was the city's vice mayor, she headed the health cluster where the SAH belonged, so she witnessed how the hospital improved.

She expressed pride in the status achieved by the hospital and the number of recognitions given to it under the leadership of Padilla.
