Septuagenarian accidentally burns self to death in Pangasinan

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – A 74-year-old man accidentally burned himself to death while cleaning a grassy area in Barangay Inoman, Pozorrubio, Pangasinan on Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as Fabian O. Songcuan.

The victim was burning the area to clear it of grass and bamboo leaves.

However, the victim allegedly miscalculated the extent of the fire and unintentionally got caught in the flames and was burned to death.

Police see no foul play but have launched a follow-up investigation on the incident.
