PRO-Cordillera nets P30-M marijuana


TINGLAYAN, Kalinga – Police seized marijuana worth P30 million in Barangay Buscalan here on May 7.

A MARIJUANA plantation was destroyed by the Police Regional Office-Cordillera in Tinglayan, Kalinga. 

Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., with Police Col. Elmer Ragay, deputy regional director for operations, led the destruction of 150,000 fully grown marijuana plants planted in a 5,000-square meter plantation in Mount Chumanchil.

Peredo said the operation was in line with the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. under the "Bagong Pilipinas" program.

Police were backed by the 503rd Infantry (Peace and Justice) Brigade, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit, Philippine Coast Guard, and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.
