President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos are expected to arrive in Zamboanga City on Thursday, May 9, to provide assistance from the national government to thousands of residents here and the Zamboanga Peninsula region.

Mr. Marcos is expected to provide assistance to thousands of farmers and fisherfolk during a distribution activity at the UZ Summit in Barangay Tetuan.

Expected to grace the event are Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., House Majority Leader Zamboanga City Rep. Mannix Dalipe, and Mayor John Dalipe here, among others.

The First Lady will grace the LAB for All Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot para sa Lahat program at the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) gymnasium here.

The LAB for All program started last May 5 at the Baliwasan Central School covered court and was also held the following day at the Flamingo covered court in Upper Calarian and at the Ayala Covered Court on May 7.

Among the services it provided were medical consultation, oral health services, health promotion, laboratory services, and free medicines.

Free legal services, which included counselling, documentation, and the administration of oaths, were also provided to residents through the program.

The two programs are forerunners of a bigger national program which had Zamboanga City as pilot area:  The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, now on its 16th leg, scheduled from May 10 to 11.
