Bong Revilla on way to recovery after Achilles tendon injury


Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. is on the road to recovery after suffering from an Achilles tendon injury.

Revilla said this during his attendance at the signing ceremony of the alliance between the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) on Wednesday, May 8.

"Well, I am getting better, getting better. At siyempre (And of course) still recovering . Road to recovery, but it’s long way to go. Three to six months to one year kasi Achilles tendon rupture," Revilla said in an interview.

Revilla, who also serves as Lakas-CMD chairperson, said he is hopeful that he can finally walk normally in the next three months, but he could not run yet.

He also said that his doctor advised him to work from home due to his current condition but he could not afford to miss the "very momentous event" on Wednesday between the two major political parties.

"Sabi sa akin ng doktor (My doctor told me to) work from home pero yung (but) occasion like this, this is a very momentous event that we really have to be here as chairman of the party ng Lakas," Revilla said.

"So kailangan nandito tayo to support at siyempre yung alyansa ng PFP and Lakas ay napakalaking bagay para sa administrasyon ng ating mahal na pangulo, Bongbong Marcos (So we have to be here to support and also the alliance with PFP is huge for the administration of President Marcos)," he added.

The senator was accompanied by his wife, Representative Lani Mercado who is also Lakas' Vice President for Luzon.
