Police arrest snatcher in Pasay City

A 30-year-old man was arrested by police after snatching a woman's gold necklace in Pasay City on Tuesday, May 7.

City police chief Col. Mario Mayames said the suspect, identified as alias Joey, a resident of Apelo Cruz St., Barangay 157, Malibay, Pasay City, was apprehended by members of Pasay City Police Substation 6  at around 5:30 p.m.

Mayames said the victim, identified as alias Jeanne, told police that she was walking along Apelo Cruz foot bridge in Malibay, Pasay City when the suspect approached her from behind and forcibly took her gold necklace worth P20,000.

Members of Police Substation 6 were able to identify and apprehend the suspect after reviewing the CCTV footage provided by barangay officials in the area.

The suspect is now detained at the police custodial facility.
