30 marijuana plants discovered in drug pusher's backyard
TACLOBAN CITY – Over 30 marijuana plants were discovered in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, May 7, in Barangay Baras, Palo, Leyte.

A BUY-BUST operation led to the discovery of 30 marijuana plants growing in a drug pusher's backyard.
Authorities nabbed Amadeo Daga, 58, a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade and a former Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL).
Daga, who reportedly tried to evade arrest during the operation, was No. 1 in the Regional Priority Target List of illegal drug personalities of the Police Regional Office-8.
Seized from the suspect were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected marijuana, two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves worth P4,600, three marijuana stems, nine dried marijuana leaves rolled in dried banana leaves, 33 stalks of marijuana, and a zip-lock pouch containing dried marijuana leaves.
A search of the suspect's property yielded approximately 30 marijuana plants valued at P2.4 million in the backyard.
Daga faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
