The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, May 7, said a low pressure area (LPA) may form and enter the country’s area of responsibility by weekend.
In PAGASA’s 4 a.m. live broadcast, weather specialist Rhea Torres said the potential LPA may also affect parts of Mindanao towards the weekend.
Meanwhile, over the next 24 hours, PAGASA said hot and humid weather will still prevail in most parts of the country.
PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies, or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, and localized thunderstorms.
It said flash floods or landslides may occur in the affected areas during severe thunderstorms.
Based on PAGASA’s extended weather outlook from May 8 to 10, the actual air temperatures in some key areas will be 25–35°C in Metro Manila, 25-39°C in Tuguegarao City, 26-33°C in Legazpi City, 17–27°C in Baguio City, 27–33°C in Metro Cebu, 27–34°C in Iloilo City, 25–33°C in Tacloban City, 25–34°C in Metro Davao, 24–34°C in Zamboanga City, and 25–33°C in Cagayan de Oro City.
