House Assistant Majority Leader Zambales 1st district Rep. Jay Khonghun has brushed off Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV's claim that high-ranking police officials are recruiting people to join a destabilization plot against President Marcos.

This, as Khonghun floated in a press conference Tuesday, May 7 the former senator's supposed moniker--"Pambansang Marites (National Gossiper)".

"Alam naman natin, sabi nga nila, si dating Senator Trillanes--Pambansang Marites ‘no (We all know, like what they say, former Senator Trillanes is the National Gossiper)," said the administration solon.

(So, it's very unfair to the generals that he was referring to, that our military and Philippine National Police are involved in this again.)

The Zambales congressman went on to issue an appeal to the former Magdalo leader and senator.

(I hope we refrain from involving the Armed Forces of the Philippines and our PNP, they are very important branches of our government, they are the law enforcers. Let's not involve them in gossips like this, especially if there's no evidence.)

A retired officer of the Philippine Navy, Trillanes served as senator from 2007 to 2019.
