The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said 20 areas experienced “dangerous” heat indices on Tuesday, May 7.
PAGASA said a heat index of 47°C was felt in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, followed by a heat index of 46°C in Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
In Bacnotan, La Union; Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Aparri, Cagayan; Iba, Zambales; Alabat, Quezon; Virac, Catanduanes; and Roxas City, Capiz, a heat index of 45°C was felt.
A heat index of 44°C was also recorded in Cuyo, Palawan, and Dumangas, Iloilo, while a heat index of 43°C was recorded in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Aborlan, Palawan; and Legazpi City, Albay.
In Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Baler, Aurora; Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Masbate City, Masbate; and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, a heat index of 42°C was felt.
