P333-M marijuana torched in Kalinga, Benguet

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera destroyed marijuana worth P333 million in a two-day eradication operation in Kalinga and Benguet from May 5 to 6.

Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., PRO-Cordillera chief, said they discovered 10 marijuana plantations in Barangay Loccong and Barangay Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

Lawmen uprooted 1,454,000 fully grown marijuana plants and 350 kilos of dried marijuana leaves valued at P332.8 million.

Five-hundred FGMJP worth P100,000 were found in a plantation in Bakun, Benguet.

All marijuana were burned on-site and police are identifying their cultivators.

Peredo praised operatives for their achievement.
