Ilocos police seize P36.6-M shabu, marijuana in April


CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – The Police Regional Office-1 seized illegal drugs worth P36.6 million in the Ilocos region from April 1 to 30.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, PRO-1 director, said 84,300 fully grown marijuana plants, 2,589.58 grams of dried marijuana leaves, and 2,864.37 grams of shabu were recovered in 95 anti-illegal drugs operations. A total of 106 suspected drug pushers were arrested.

Evangelista commended operating units for their remarkable achievement.

“I commend the dedication and professionalism of our personnel, whose tireless efforts have contributed to this significant accomplishment. Moving forward, we will continue to work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of service and ensure the safety and security of all residents in Region 1,” he said.
