The RHUs in the towns of Ajuy, Alimodian, Carles, and Sara were recently completed by the BDO Foundation (BDOF), the corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank.

“With improved primary healthcare facilities now available, residents can access quality medical services closer to home, thereby mitigating barriers to healthcare and promoting overall well-being,” said BDOF President Mario A. Deriquito in a statement.

The completion of the Ajuy Primary Care Facility, the Alimodian Rural Health Unit and Birthing Facility, the Carles Primary Care Facility, and the Sara Municipal Primary Care Facility will benefit more than 220,000 residents from 160 barangays in the four towns.

Rehabilitation work included enhancement of waiting areas, offices, clinics, consultation rooms, treatment rooms, and birthing facilities as well as installation of new furniture, fixtures, and signages.

The BDOF has rehabilitated  19 out of the 178 RHUs in Iloilo since 2012.
