Karla Estrada, mother of popular actor Daniel Padilla, is among the newest members of pro-administrarion party Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD). 

This was confirmed on Tuesday night, May 7 by the Office of Speaker Martin Romualdez, who admistered the oathtaking of new party stalwarts earlier that day. 

Estrada is a singer-actress. 

Romualdez is the president of Lakas-CMD.

He represents Leyte's 1st district in the House of Representatives.
