The UPCAT is the university's way of upholding its high educational standards and managing limited resources.
It restricts the number of freshman slots at each campus and for each program. If students decide to take the UPCAT, they will be joining thousands of other hopeful applicants.
The UPCAT consists of four subtests: Language Proficiency (in English and Filipino), Reading Comprehension (in English and Filipino), Science, and Mathematics.
Examinees' scores, along with their final grades from Grades 8 to 11, will determine their University Predicted Grade (UPG).
UPCAT application
Applicants planning to take the UPCAT 2025 in August need to submit their personal details and program preferences using Form 1 by May 15.
This can be done through the official website: https://upcat2025online.up.edu.ph/.

Examination reminders
Meanwhile, UP reminded test takers to arrive at their designated test centers on the date specified in their Test Permit.
"Be there by 6:30 a.m. for the morning session or by 12 noon for the afternoon session," UP advised.
The university also requested students to bring only the following items to the test: test permit, school ID or any valid government-issued ID card, two good-quality pencils, a sharpener, a rubber eraser, and snacks.
In addition, UP reminded examinees that the test will take about five hours and that mobile phones, calculators, and cameras are strictly prohibited during the test.
