PRO-13 secures Caraga Athletic Games 2024


PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The Caraga Regional Athletic Games 2024 is underway at the DO Plaza Sports Complex in Barangay Patin-ay here.

Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft has deployed policemen to secure more than 10,000 athletes, coaches, and officials in the May 5 to 11 competition in a newly rehabilitated sports complex with a 3,000-seat grandstand.

The venue has an Olympic-size swimming pool, a fully airconditioned covered court for basketball and volleyball, a tennis court, rubberized track and field oval, and a football field with artificial grass.

Delegates and guests are accommodated in fully air-conditioned rooms with Wi-Fi connection.

Twelve divisions of the Department of Education-13 in five provinces and six cities are competing beginning Monday, May 6. 

The opening ceremony was held on Sunday, May 5, and witnessed by a huge crowd.

Athletes are competing in baseball, football, softball, basketball, futsal, track and field, archery, arnis, pencak silat, wrestling, wushu, boxing, tennis, and badminton.

Meanwhile, Agusan del Sur Reps. Adolph Edward “EddieBong” Plaza and Rep. Alfelito Bascug and Gov. Santiago B. Cane said they are willing to host the 2026 Palarong Pambansa.

“With the complete facilities now in place in our place, we are willing to host this nation’s sports competition in 2026,” Plaza said.
