The list of candidates who will vie for the Mutya ng Taguig 2024 has been released.
“This year’s set of Taguigeñas, battling it out for the coveted title, represents the very best that our Probinsyudad has to offer: diverse, beautiful, empowered, and proud of their roots,” the Taguig City government said.
It added, “Who among them will claim the title, Mutya ng Taguig 2024? Who will become Taguig’s ambassador of goodwill? Who might move on from representing her barangay to representing the City of Taguig in upcoming national pageants? Find out during coronation night by the end of the month.”
This year, 35 candidates have been selected for the beauty pageant.
One of the candidates is Rhonda Felizmeña, a grandmother, of Barangay Pitogo, one of the EMBO (enlisted men’s barrio) barangays in Taguig.
The Taguig City government removed the age limit, and marital and parental status for applicants for the Mutya ng Taguig 2024 beauty pageant.
This year's requirements for the candidates for the 2024 pageant are:
• Resident of Taguig, including EMBO barangays
• At least one parent with Filipino citizenship
• At least a high school graduate
• Assigned female at birth
• No age limit, but at least 18 years old during pageant day
• No restrictions based on marital or parental status
The city government accepted applicants from EMBO barangays, which are now part of Taguig. With the inclusion of EMBO barangays, the city government removed the residency requirement of at least one year.
It also removed the age limit for applicants but they should be at least 18 years old on pageant day. Last year, the city government set the age limit to those 18 to 28 years old.
In addition, the city government also removed the marital and parental status. In 2023, the city government required that candidates should “never been married, been pregnant or given birth.”
