Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the inauguration of four upgraded infrastructure projects in the city.

The city government unveiled the Muzon Dulo basketball court or MUDUBA covered court and the Muzon Multi-Purpose Hall (MAC covered court)  both located in Barangay Muzon, Malabon City.

In addition, several alleys along Katarungan St., and Kaunlaran St., Phase III including drainage systems in the areas were also opened to the public.

According to the city’s public information office, these infrastructure projects underwent a reconstruction in order to improve their services to residents.

It also emphasized the importance of well-maintained roads and prioritized the safety of road users in the area. 

Sandoval said that all residents of the city can use the covered court for leisure activities such as basketball and zumba for the well-being of the residents.

The city mayor also added that the covered court can be used for family activities.

"Ating pinapahalagahan ang kalusugan at kaligtasan ng mga Malabueño, pati na rin ang magagandang pakikipagunayan sa pamilya at komunidad. Atin pong pinaganda at binuksan itong mga proyekto upang mabigyan pa ng kulay at ang mga pasilidad dito sa Malabon at kanilang magamit para sa iba't ibang aktibidad at mapabuti ang kanilang mga pangangatawan ar pati na rin ang kaligtasan habang sila ay nasa labas ng kanilang mga tahanan (We value the health and safety of Malabuenos, as well as their positive interactions with their families and communities. We have improved and opened these projects to provide facilities here in Malabon that they can use for various activities and to improve their physical well-being and safety while they are outside their homes),” Sandoval said.

The streets and drainage systems were upgraded to ensure the safety of the residents, to uphold cleanliness, and to mitigate flooding during inclement weather.

The City Engineering Office said the rehabilitation projects involved various improvements such as repainting, upgrading or concreting, and enhancing existing damages in the city roads, alleys, drainage systems, and manholes.

City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said that the projects were enhanced to encourage the residents to participate in physical and social activities.

He added that the upgraded projects will provide a safe space for the residents to work and to conduct various transactions with the city government.

“These facilities can also serve as evacuation centers in times of need, especially during typhoons, disasters and other emergencies. Under Mayor Jeannie's leadership, we assure our residents that through the improvement of the projects, we prioritize the safety and well-being of the Malabueños," he said.

The city government also unveiled several projects in the city including a new footbridge on Letre creek, the renovation and improvement of Delos Santos Roads 2 and 3, the drainage system on Delos Santos Road, the new Gozon Outpost in Letre, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) or the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) outpost in Roque St.
