The 40-year-old Biado, who held a 7-5 lead and was one rack away from advancing to the last 16, made a couple of misses – especially his two slips on ball No. 2 in the same pocket of the 14th and 15th rack – which could have wrapped up their race-to-8 matchup in the 104-player tournament that presents a €33,800 (roughly P2 million) prize pool.

Prior to his exit, Biado was triumphant in his last three matches after being relegated to the losers' bracket as he yielded to Bulgaria’s Georgi Georgiev, 10–6, on the opening day.

The WPA men’s world 10-ball titlist beat crowd favorite Jimmy Devlin (8-0), Austrian Max Lechner (8-5), and German Moritz Neuhausen (8-4).

Hoàng actually held the momentum first by securing a 4-1 advantage, but Biado retaliated to catch the Vietnamese at 5-all.

The Nueva Ecija native then followed up his fightback with two more racks for a 7-5 cushion, but lost his grip after his crucial errors led to Hoàng's final push.

Despite the loss, Biado's European trip will not end there as he and fellow Filipino campaigner Michael Feliciano will vie in the UK Open Pool Championship in Telford, England this week.
