The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said 30 areas in the country may experience “dangerous” heat index levels on Monday, May 6.
PAGASA said Dagupan City, Pangasinan and Aparri, Cagayan may experience a heat index of 47°C.
A heat index of 45°C may be felt in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) in Pili, Camarines Sur; and Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
In Bacnotan, La Union; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; and San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Roxas City, Capiz; Catbalogan, Samar; and Virac, Catanduanes, a heat index of 44°C may be recorded.
A heat index of 43°C may also be experienced in Isabela State University (ISU) in Echague, Isabela; Sangley Point, Cavite; Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Cuyo, Palawan; Daet, Camarines Norte; Dumangas, Iloilo; and Catarman, Northern Samar.
Meanwhile, in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City; Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac, Ilocos Norte; Baler, Aurora; Casiguran, Aurora; Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo; Masbate City, Masbate; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Tacloban City, Leyte; Borongan, Eastern Samar; and Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte, a heat index of 42°C may be recorded.
