10 cable wire thieves nabbed in Cabanatuan City


CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police nabbed 10 individuals for allegedly stealing copper cable wires owned by a prominent telecommunications company valued at P600,000 in Barangay Quezon District, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on May 2.

The suspects were identified as Mond, Gelo, Ger, Son, Juls, Nante, Jax, Rap, Lon, and EJ. Their cohort, Elmer, eluded arrest.

Residents noticed the suspects acting suspiciously, prompting them to report them to the police.

Police caught the suspects in the act of cutting copper cable wires below a manhole.

The suspects were residents of Quezon City and Caloocan City and mostly drivers and helpers.

The Police Regional Office-3 cited the arrest of the suspects.

“This successful interception highlights the crucial role of community vigilance and collaboration in combating organized crime and protecting essential public assets,” PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said.
