Seasoned actress, CEO, entrepreneur, and public servant Ms Flawless Angelica Jones is now National Chairman of Project W.A.T.C.H, a long-range socio-civic undertaking of JCI Senate Philippines.

Breaking barriers, Jones becomes the second woman JCI Senate member to be elected as the National Chair of Project WATCH. The acronym represents our commitment to 'We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty,' a project that strives to reinforce the Values of Punctuality and Honesty among Filipinos. This campaign was initiated during the Arroyo administration in the Philippines.

Jones passionately asserts that Project WATCH is a crucial movement aimed at eradicating the infamous 'Filipino time,' a habit that has earned us a reputation among Americans and other Westerners who are known for their punctuality. It's high time we change this perception.

"Filipino time" means at least an hour late from the agreed schedule of the beginning of an event. Pinoys are habitually late.

"As for honesty, all of us always say it is the best policy, but many hardly implement it in their lives and professions," she quips.

The actress-civic leader-politician (trice elected board member in Laguna) has been a Founder Charter Pres. of JCI Hijas De San Pablo (JCI Regular) since 2014-2015. She was among the organizers of JCI Hijas de San Pablo (city), an all-female JCI chapter attached to Jaycees San Pablo City, since 2014

She eventually became Charter president of JCI Hijas de San Pablo and became widely known in JCI Philippines for her projects in Laguna. Her dynamic reputation as an active member of JCI Senate San Pablo prompted elders of the JCI Senate to invite her to join the group, which considers membership a "lifetime privilege."

Membership in the JCI Senate is by invitation only. It has officers, activities, and projects entirely different from those of JCI Philippines. However, they share headquarters at Alejandro Roces Avenue, QC.

The JCI remains largely a male-dominated worldwide organization, even in the Philippines, which has had two women presidents.

"I thank Project WATCH council founder Sen. Cesar Ochoa, Sen Aggie Angeles, National JCI Senate President Eduardo Echem, National Executive Vice President Herbert Tang, and the National Board of JCI Senate Philippines for trusting me to be the National Chairman of Project WATCH. I promise to reciprocate with loyalty and dedication to accomplish the legacy mission of JCI Senate Philippines and its flagship Project WATCH."

Project WATCH has been introduced in Philippine education. Explains Jones why this is so: "Teaching Filipinos about being punctual and honest even when no one is looking is best done among the young people who are in school and who are open-minded about life.

"Besides, pupils and students will be the next generation of adult citizens who will run this country. They are likely to apply what has been ingrained in their minds and hearts in their adult lives and professions or occupations."

She confides in how being Project WATCH chairperson has affected her day-to-day life.

"Partly with the influence of my mother (known in showbiz as 'Mommy Beth Jones' though her real name is Beth Alarva), I've become punctual since I made it as Project WATCH National chairman. I don't want to embarrass myself by being castigated jokingly or seriously for showing up late in mymcommitments. As the saying goes, I now do my best to walk my talk," she reveals.

She is a single mom and recently opened up about her strained relationship with the father of her only child, a boy who is now 11 years old. This is part of her renewed honesty to herself and the world.

Jones has also bared to the media during huddles for her movies ("When Magic Hurts" with Beaver Magtalas, Mutya Orquia, and Maxine Trinidad and "Imelda Papin: The Untold Story" (formerly "Loyalista") that there had been times that she fell into distraught about her son's pleadings for his father to attend school activities that encourage the presence of both parents.

Her being Project WATCH National chair makes her interact with fellow members more frequently and for multiple hours so they can schedule interactions with teachers and students and get them familiar with the vision and mission of Project WATCH, prompting her to declare that the new love of her life

A message from JCI Senator Eduardo Echem, JCI Senate Philippines National President, was read by JCI Senator National Vice Pres. Herbert Tang, emphasizing the significance of partnerships and collaboration in driving meaningful change. This message echoed the shared purpose that unites all Project W.A.T.C.H. advocates.

As the new chapter begins, all those involved are eager to continue promoting the core values of punctuality and honesty, inspiring others to join them in this transformative journey.

Meanwhile, the Project WATCH chair announces her gratitude to stalwarts of JCI Philippines, JCI Senate, and Project WATCH including JCI Senate National President Eduardo Echem, Project WATCH Founding Chairman Emeritus JCI Sen Cesar S. Ochoa, JCI National Executive Vice President Herbert Tang.

Jones will organize a dinner concert on June 29 to raise more funds for Project WATCH. The event, dubbed "Time to Watch," will be held at the Quezon City Sports Club from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Jones has visited Sorsogon, Isabela, and the National Convention of PTA in Baguio to launch Project WATCH.

Project WATCH is slated to be launched by Jones this year in Batanes, Cagayan, Camarines, Ilocos Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, and Palawan.
