A film about the life of OPM icon April Boy Regino is in the works.

This was confirmed by his son JC Regino, during his Zoom interview for his new single "Wala Na" recently.

(t should have been done before, dad [April Boy] was alive, but during the pandemic, it was not pushed through when Dad disappeared. Then this year, the producer called my mom, then she said that the film was on and they were having a meeting)

JC also mentioned that they are now in search of who will portray the role of his late father April Boy.

"As of now po, nagkakaroon na po sila ng search kung sino po yung gaganap sa buhay ni dad [April Boy], JC said.

(As of now, they are having a search for who will play the character of my dad.)

JC jokingly said that he would be honored to portray his dad's life but the catch is he looks like his mom.

(Of course, I'm interested in playing the role of my dad in the film, but ufortunately the director told me that I look like my mom, not my dad, but when it comes to voice, me and my dad both have it)

There are still no details about the upcoming biopic of his dad, but JC expressed his desire to be part of the cast.

"Syempre willing po ako maging part nung cast kasi syempre buhay po yan ng dad, and alam ko rin po yung story ni dad," he added.

(Of course, I'm willing to be part of the cast because of course that's dad's life, and I also know my dad's story)

'Wala Na' talks about heartbreak

JC Regino bared his soul in his latest single “Wala Na,” his third track under GMA Music. This emotionally charged ballad will resonate deeply with listeners as it talks about heartbreak and unrequited love.

(This 'Wala Na,' is for the heartbroken. For people who are crazy in love, even though it's not going to work anymore, and the fact that they've been heartbroken, they still hope that everything is going to be fine. That's the theme of the song, it hurts a lot but I think everyone's going to relate)

Marking his third song under GMA Music, JC shared that he will write a song when he can. "When I’m told to do one, of course, I’ll go (and I’m game for it)," JC said.

"Wala Na” marks a departure from Regino’s previous releases under GMA Music. While “Idolo” and “Tama Na Sa’kin Ikaw” celebrated themes of gratitude and devotion, “Wala Na” talks about the darker and sadder side of love, exploring the pain of loss and the struggle to move on.

The single is also his first song without the voices of his uncles Jimmy and Ringo of the April Boys.
