Neighboring convenience stores in Cavite targeted in overnight robbery spree
CAVITE – Two convenience stores in the neighboring towns of Amadeo and Silang were victimized by a robbery-holdup group overnight from May 30 to 31.
The first incident occurred in Barangay Poblacion 1 in Amadeo at 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 30.
Amadeo Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief of Police Maj. Gilbert H. Derla told the Manila Bulletin that a suspect wearing a jacket and a helmet entered the store and declared a hold-up.
The suspect carted away cash amounting to around P15,000 and fled on a motorcycle.
A few hours later, another convenience store was robbed in Barangay Poblacion 3 in Silang at 2:50 a.m. on Friday, May 31.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A stated that a suspect who pretended to be a customer held the store personnel at gunpoint and demanded cash.
The suspect and his cohort, who acted as lookout, took away P11,000 from the cash register and P73,900 from the store’s vault.
According to Derla, the investigation revealed that both incidents were perpetrated by the same robbery-holdup group targeting convenience stores in Cavite without security guards.
Two suspects who are allegedly part of the group have already been collared by the Silang Municipal Police Station while hot pursuit operations against their other accomplices continue.
