Is David Chua falling for 'Ate Girl' Jackie Gonzaga

Is a JaVid loveteam in the works?

Eagle-eyed netizens were quick to spot the sweet exchanges between the chinito heartthrob and the fast-rising It’s Showtime co-host on their respective social media platforms just days ago.

Jackie reposted David’s photo showing both of them sharing a sweet moment, snapped during a break from their taping for their Net25 sitcom, Good Will. And just like ants taking to honey, Jackie’s legion of followers expressed their kilig feels and wasted no time in ‘shipping’ the new couple-in-the-making. Or are they really?

David and Jackie first met on the set of Good Will, when she joined the cast during the show’s fourth season during the last quarter of 2023.

David’s close confidant and showbiz friend disclosed his friend’s initial reaction was upon first meeting Jackie.

David said, “Bibo siya, e.”

Not surprisingly, it was her spunk and quick-wittedness that also got the attention of Vice Ganda, who gave her her rightful ‘promotion’ from Showtime back-up dancer to co-host.

David adds, “Kung kaya mong makipag-sagutan sa isang Vice Ganda, then you must really be smart and gutsy. And that’s what Jackie is! Mabilis kausap and hindi siya plastic.”

“Of course, she’s very stunning! And because she’s a dancer, she’s also very much into fitness, just like me.”

Despite being teased by their respective fans, David makes it clear that they’re not exactly dating at the moment.

“I think most people know that she’s recovering from a breakup – an eight-year-relationship at that – and I just want to help her move on,” he clarifies.

And being a true Manila boy, David also plans to show her around the city, exploring all the quaint but historic restos, scenic destinations and historic sites.

“She’s easy to hang out with, walang arte sa katawan, and being the people person that she is, she’s always willing to meet new people and discover new things. With a mindset like that, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before she fully recovers from her heartbreak.

“Basta, no matter what happens, I’m always there for Jackie Gurl. I’ll always be by her side,” David assures.
