The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, May 31 said fair weather conditions will prevail over the country this weekend, except for extreme northern Luzon, where rains are anticipated.
In its weekly weather outlook for June 1 to June 7, issued on Friday, PAGASA said a frontal system will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over extreme northern Luzon until Saturday, June 1.
A frontal system is a weather system formed by the convergence of warm and cold air.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience fair weather conditions, with only isolated rain showers expected due to localized thunderstorms.
From Sunday until Tuesday, June 2 to 4, PAGASA said mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte due to a frontal system or shear line.
A shear line is a weather system formed by the collision of cold and warm air.
The rest of the country will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
From Wednesday to Friday, June 5 to 7, PAGASA said the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” is expected to bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the western section of Luzon.
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
