Woman stabbed to death by ‘obsessed’ ex-employee in Indang, Cavite

CAVITE – A woman was stabbed to death in Indang early morning on Wednesday, May 29.

Indang Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief of Police Maj. Edward B. Cantano told the Manila Bulletin that the suspect, identified as alias Asyong, was a former employee of the victim’s family and might have been obsessed with her.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim’s father used to employ alias Asyong’s live-in partner as a helper, allowing the couple to stay in his house.

When the victim’s father died, the female helper went back to their hometown in Samar while her partner, alias Asyong, remained in Indang to work as a construction worker.

The 32-year-old victim, meanwhile, stayed alone in their family home.

Cantano said alias Asyong visited the victim from time to time, leading relatives to suspect that he had feelings for her.

At around 2:00 a.m. on the day of the crime, the suspect reportedly entered the victim’s house through a window.

Moments later, the bloodied victim, with a knife still lodged in her back, sought help from a relative around 30 meters away from her house while the suspect fled.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Indang MPS is further investigating the case and has launched a hot pursuit operation to collar the suspect at large.
