Lenovo enters the era of AI PC with new ThinkPads

The ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 is now available from Lenovo at a starting price of P85,000. 

ThinkPads are Lenovo’s laptops that are designed for professionals, given their utilitarian but still attractive design. This ThinkPad features a 16:10 display and is powered by an AMD Ryzen PRO 8040 HS-Series -  Ryzen’s processor built to have more power while being energy efficient. It contains a neural processing unit, which is developed for AI. 

Lenovo is set to integrate Microsoft's new Recall feature into some of its ThinkPad laptops.  This AI-powered tool lets users search and review their laptop activity.

Lenovo boasts the ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 is provided with independent software vendor (ISV) certifications and integrated AMD Radeon graphics. Applications like AutoCAD, Revit, and SOLIDWORKS should run smoothly on this laptop. It will also ship out ThinkShield, Lenovo’s own list of security features. 

Since AMD is involved, the new ThinkPad will be getting AMD Ryzen AI. Its NPU is capable of up to 39 AI TOPS of processing power, which AMD claims is more than three times more powerful than the previous generation.

  • Available with Windows 11 Pro, and qualified for several versions of Linux-based operating systems

  • FHD touch or non-touch displays with 3M Optical Film solution increases brightness to 400 nits while using up to 16% less power3 
  • 2.8k OLED display option with low blue light and X-Rite factory color calibration 
  • Wi-Fi 6E and optional 5G WWAN 
  • 39.3Whr battery option offers lightweight mobility while a customer replaceable (CRU) 52.5Whr battery extends working hours
