'I work well with everyone': Legarda mum on joining Senate minority bloc
Senator Loren Legarda on Thursday, May 30 said she is comfortable working with all of her colleagues in the Senate and will continue to work diligently as a member of the Upper Chamber.

“I always want to work…I’ve been a hardworking senator since the 1990s. I work even on Fridays when the Senate is closed,” Legarda told reporters during a press briefing at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City.
“So titles, chairmanships—those things come and go. What stays is the trust bestowed to me by the people,” she said.
Legarda earlier resigned as Senate President Pro Tempore after 15 senators signed a resolution supporting Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero as the new Senate leader.
Escudero replaced Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri who now leads the so-called “Solid 7” or group of senators who still vouched for him after his sudden ouster as Senate chief.
It was Sen. Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada who replaced Legarda as the second highest Senate official. Legarda is now part of the “Solid Seven.”
Aside from Legarda and Zubiri, senators Sherwin Gatchalian, Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay, Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito and Joel Villanueva comprise the “seven.”
Ejercito earlier revealed that some of them are considering joining the Senate minority bloc manned by Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros.
However, Legarda was mum when asked if she is open to joining the minority.
“I work very, very well with my colleagues in what you call the Solid 7. I work equally well with all my colleagues in the 24-member Senate. As I said, I work well with everybody,” she said.
“I was elected by 24 million people in the last elections. I consider it my honor and responsibility to the people who put me there and gave me their confidence for four terms,” she pointed out.
“I take my job seriously, so names, don’t really matter much. It’s secondary to the honor and responsibility I bear, I hold because of the trust given to me by the Filipino people,” she stressed.
