DepEd Muntinlupa superintendent passes away

The head of the Department of Education’s Schools Division Office (SDO) in Muntinlupa has passed away.

Dr. Evangeline Ladines, the SDO Muntinlupa superintendent, passed away on May 29. She was 64.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced her passing.

“It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Dr. Evangeline Ladines, Superintendent of the Schools Division Office Muntinlupa,” Biazon posted on Facebook on May 30.

“Katuwang natin si Dr. Ladines sa pagsulong ng dekalidad na edukasyon para mga kabataang Muntinlupeño. Nakakalungkot lalo dahil graduation season ngayon, at hindi na niya nakita mag-martsa ang mga estudyante dito sa Muntinlupa (Dr. Ladines was our partner in advancing quality education for young Muntinlupeños. It is sad especially because it is the graduation season and she was not able to witness the marching of students here in Muntinlupa),” the mayor said.

He added, “Nakikiramay ako sa naiwang pamilya at mga kaibigan ni Dr. Ladines at sa buong SDO Muntinlupa (I sympathize with the family and friends of Dr. Ladines and the whole SDO Muntinlupa). Rest in peace, Dr. Ladines.”

Ladines assumed the position of SDO Muntinlupa superintendent in April last year. Before this, she served as SDO Paranaque superintendent for more than three years from 2019 to 2023. She was also the head of SDO Pasay from 2014 to 2019.

She became the SDO Mandaluyong superintendent from February to September 2014 and its assistant schools division superintendent from 2012 to 2014.
