Ten suspected drug peddlers, five wanted persons, and 15 illegal gamblers were arrested in a series of anti-crime operations by the Bulacan police on Thursday and Friday, May 30 and 31.
According to reports submitted to Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, the buy-bust operations were conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Santa Maria, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, Pandi, and Malolos City police.
Confiscated from the 10 suspected drug peddlers during the operation were a total of 37 plastic sachets of suspected shabu and buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) for investigation and examination. Criminal complaints for violations of R.A. 9165 against the suspects are now being prepared for filing in court.
Tracker teams from the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit, San Jose del Monte, Meycauayan, Bocaue, and Sta. Maria Police Station arrested five wanted persons in different manhunt operations.
They were arrested for the crimes of theft, carnapping, murder, for violation of R.A. 9262 and R.A. 8042, and of the Omnibus Election Code (Liquor Ban). They have been placed under the custody of the arresting unit and station.
In a series of anti-illegal gambling operations conducted by the Baliwag, San Jose del Monte, Obando, and Marilao police, 15 illegal gamblers were arrested after they were caught in the act of playing and betting on an illegal card game (tong-its), mahjong and illegal coin game (cara y cruz). Confiscated were a set of playing cards, playing tiles, coins, and bet money in different denominations.
