Nurse shot dead after helping motorcycle rider

A 39-year-old nurse was shot to death by a rider whom he helped after falling off his motorcycle in Barangay 173, Caloocan City on Wednesday, May 1. 

In a TV report, the victim, identified as Mark John Blanco, was shot twice in the head and on the arm after he tried to help the suspect, identified as Joel Vecino, from picking up his motorcycle after falling due to intoxication.

When the motorcycle failed to restart, the suspect immediately shot Blanco. 

He also shot another individual identified as Willy Manarom, 39, who was about to stop the suspect. 

Vecino was immediately arrested by the Caloocan Police. 

The police recovered three 9mm shell casings at the crime scene which matched the firearm confiscated from Blanco.

He is facing charges for double murder
