TACLOBAN CITY – A magnitude-six earthquake rocked Leyte on Friday night, May 3.
DULAG in Leyte was the epicenter of the earthquake.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake was tectonic in origin.
It had a depth of eight kilometers and its epicenter was in Dulag, Leyte, 41 kilometers from this city.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity V in the municipalities of Abuyog, Mahaplag, and Burauen in Leyte.
Tremors were felt as far as Southern Leyte, Eastern Samar, Samar, and Northern Samar.
People were seen rushing out from establishments here.
