Big Hit Music denies BTS affiliated with meditation group, religious cults
Korean entertainment agency Big Hit Music denied any link between Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS and meditation group Dahnworld and religious cults.
As the fight between HYBE and NewJeans’ agency ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin continues to heat up, rumors spread linking BTS to Dahnworld, accused as a religious cult, and other issues like hoarding and concept plagiarism.
Big Hit Music and ADOR are under HYBE.

Big Hit Music issued a statement on May 2 to deny the rumors while Dahnworld also denied any connection with HYBE and BTS.
“We wish to update you on the status of legal measures taken to protect BTS members against violation of their rights. We would like to clarify that the recent allegations of hoarding, concept plagiarism, and affiliations with Dahnworld or any religious cults are completely false,” Big Hit Music said in a statement.
It added, “The company has decided that the recent movement spreading false rumors and information has become excessive, and announced previously that a separate law firm would be engaged to address these matters decisively.”
“Thus, we have identified and compiled several posts containing misinformation aimed at defaming and slandering the artists, and filed the initial round of criminal complaint to law enforcement agencies today, on May 2. This compilation includes posts that were systematically uploaded then deleted, as well as posts from authors who have since deleted their accounts. We will persist in our legal proceedings through continuous monitoring and gathering of evidence,” it said.
Big Hit Music said “we uphold a zero-tolerance policy for filing civic and criminal complaints against individuals who attempt to tarnish the reputation of our artists by spreading malicious falsehoods. We will offer no leniency or settlements, ensuring that offenders are appropriately punished without exception.”
“We extend our deepest apologies to the fans of BTS for the distress you have experienced in recent weeks. We are committed to taking all necessary actions to protect our artists' rights. Thank you for your unwavering love and support for BTS. Please send any reports of aforementioned cases of violation to BIGHIT MUSIC's legal hotline at [email protected],” the company said.
On its YouTube channel, Dahnworld also denied the connection.
"With the ongoing dispute between entertainment agency HYBE and Ador CEO Min Hee-jin, rumors have emerged implicating DahnWorld. We want to clearly state that these allegations are baseless. We plan to take strong legal action against those who spread false information that tarnishes our reputation, disrupts our business, and causes economic losses,” said Dahnworld, the Korea Times reported.
It added, "These negative, groundless rumors not only damage DahnWorld's integrity but also severely affect the reputation of our employees and members."
Dahnworld clarified that “although our values are inspired by Korea's founding principles, we are not a religious organization."
"We sincerely hope that the BTS members do not suffer any harm from these unfounded rumors," it said.
All BTS members are serving in the military. They plan to regroup in 2025.
