BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei—President Marcos says he is clueless about the supposed instruction Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri disobeyed leading to his resignation as the Senate President.

In a post-visit interview here on Wednesday, May 29, Marcos said he does not know what Zubiri was referring to when he said that he failed to follow instructions "from the powers that be."
However, Marcos said he must be referring to the President but insisted that he does not know what instruction the senator was talking about.
"I know. I was... I guess if you're Senate President, the only power that be is the President. So, I’m not sure what he is referring to. If that is a specific instance or just as a general principle. I don’t know ," the President said.
Marcos said he has not spoken to Zubiri about it, nor the matter was ever brought up the last time they spoke.
"I haven’t spoken to him about it. The last time I spoke to him we talked about the procurement law. This didn't come up," he said.
So, it’s hard for me to answer, simply because I’m not quite sure what he’s referring to because --- what instructions could there be that hindi niya natapos (he failed). Yes, that’s still unclear to me what he was referring to," he added.
In the same interview, the President also bared he knew about the attempt to change the Senate leadership and he was informed "every step of the way" but said he did not have a hand on it.
