Man saved from being trapped inside burning Letran College in Intramuros

A man was rescued after being trapped inside the burning Colegio de San Juan de Letran along Legazpi Street in Intramuros, Manila, on Wednesday afternoon, May 29.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at around 2 p.m.
Residents said they heard a man yelling from the second-floor window of the school.
Rescuers immediately took a ladder and a steel saw in an attempt to save the man but the metal grills were too thick. This prompted the rescuers to use a grinder to cut the grills instead.

The blaze was extinguished at 2:44 p.m.
Authorities said all the students and teaching personnel were accounted for and were able to get out of the building through the main gate.
