The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the extreme heat reached a "dangerous" level in 32 areas on Wednesday, May 29.

PAGASA reported the highest heat index of the day of 47 degrees Celsius (°C) in Aparri, Cagayan; Baler, Aurora; and Virac, Catanduanes.
It was followed by 46°C in ISU Echague, Isabela and Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte.
The heat index, meanwhile, reached 45°C in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; and Casiguran, Aurora.

A 44°C heat index was also recorded in MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Bacnotan, La Union; Iba, Zambales; Sangley Point, Cavite; Ambulong, Tanauan Batangas; Infanta, Quezon; Alabat, Quezon; CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur; Catarman, Northern Samar; Catbalogan, Samar; and Tacloban City, Leyte.
Meanwhile, it reached 43°C in Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Borongan, Eastern Samar; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; Maasin, Southern Leyte; and Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City, Metro Manila; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; Masbate City, Masbate; Roxas City, Capiz; Mactan International Airport, Cebu; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur; and Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte registered a heat index of 42°C.
