While the rest of actress Eva Darren's family were only too willing to let the incident pass with a shrug, many others aren’t.
Talking about several celebrities who seemingly can’t accept the excuse given by FAMAS relating their decision to replace Eva as presenter at the recent awards night.
According to FAMAS’ public apology, they did so mainly because she allegedly couldn’t be located during the event.
“This was not intentional and purely a misjudgment. The show is being streamed live and needed to be remedied right away. Hence, a replacement for Miss Darren was done last minute," it added.

Taking to social media, veteran actress Divina Valencia, who was also present at the event as one of several recipients of the Iconic Movie Actress of Philippine Cinema trophy, slammed this reasoning.
She shared how Eva was among the first to arrive at the venue and that she was seated on the very chair assigned to her the whole time.
“Lahat ng artistang dumating may upuang nakapangalan,” she explained.
“This excuse is so narrow,” she added.
Actor-vlogger-talent manager Ogie Diaz also couldn’t accept the rationale of FAMAS.

He said, “Sa tanda naman ni Ms. Eva, saan naman kaya siya pupunta? Nagte-table hopping ba siya? Nagyosi sa backstage? Nag-jog sa Quirino Grandstand? Namasyal sa Luneta? Mga palaka kayo!”
AKTOR, the league of Filipino actors, expressed deep sadness over what it described as a “lapse” in the management of the program, going on to convey solidarity with Eva.
Meanwhile, some fans were quick to latch on to the social media post of Vince Tañada, director of this year’s FAMAS awards night.
It read: “Haters gonna hate. Regardless of what you do. So just move on and live your life to the fullest.”
Many believe this is his take on the controversy.
Some of the comments:
“Bakit ang daming ‘professionals’ na ganito sa atin? Instead of acknowledging mistakes or taking accountability, parang highschool mean girl lang ang response.”
“Masyadong prideful, feeling magaling, taking constructive criticism as a personal attack.”
“He’s on the right side of the political spectrum but sadly HE HAS NO TASTE NOR CLASS.”
Vince is yet to issue a rejoinder.
