Despite the announcement of the onset of the rainy season by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), 39 areas may still experience a "dangerous" heat index on Thursday, May 30.

PAGASA said a heat index of 47 degrees Celsius (°C) may be experienced in Aparri, Cagayan and Baler, Aurora, while 46°C may be felt in ISU Echague, Isabela and Casiguran, Aurora.
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Virac, Catanduanes; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; and Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte may experience a 45°C heat index.
PAGASA added that Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Bacnotan, La Union; Sangley Point, Cavite; Catarman, Northern Samar; Catbalogan, Samar; and Tacloban City, Leyte may have a heat index of 44°C.
Meanwhile, a 43°C heat index may be recorded in Ambulong, Tanauan Batangas; Infanta, Quezon; Alabat, Quezon; Daet, Camarines Norte; CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur; Borongan, Eastern Samar; and Maasin, Southern Leyte.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City, Metro Manila; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; Masbate City, Masbate; Juban, Sorsogon; Roxas City, Capiz; Mambusao, Capiz; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Dumangas, Iloilo; Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental; Panglao International Airport, Bohol; Mactan International Airport, Cebu; Siquijor, Siquijor; VSU-Baybay, Leyte; Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte; and Cotabato City, Maguindanao may have a heat index of 42°C.
