TACLOBAN CITY – A 75-year-old nun was wounded in a shooting incident here in Barangay Burabod, Kawayan, Biliran, on Sunday, May 26.

A NUN was shot and wounded by an unidentified gunman in Biliran on Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Sister Emma, a resident of the barangay.
Sister Ina, a fellow nun aged 72, said they were watching television when a man called them outside their home.
She looked outside the window and saw a man clad in yellow jacket.
As Sister Emma approached the door alongside Sister Ina, the suspect shot the victim using a gun of unknown caliber and was hit in the back.
Sister Emma was taken to the Biliran Provincial Hospital (BPH) and later referred to the Eastern Visayas Medical Center here for surgery.
The Biliran Provincial Forensic Unit (BPFU) recovered a slug and two fired shells.
The victim and Sister Ina was a member of the missionary sisters of Lady of Peace in Barangay Burabod but are not registered or affiliated with any religious group.
